Ezra Miller, the 30-year-old actor best known for their role as The Flash in the DCEU, has pleaded not guilty to charges of felony burglary. As reported by Deadline, the actor faces up to 26 years in prison and over $2000 of fines if they’re found guilty - it’s alleged that they stole three bottles of alcohol from a neighbour’s pantry earlier this year.
Miller appeared remotely in court on Monday (17 October), where they were told to keep away from their neighbour, Isaac Winokur (whose house they allegedly entered), and Vermont resident Aiden Early. According to the actor’s conditions of release, this includes having contact with the individuals in writing, over the phone, or via a third party.
Deadline reports that the actor was dressed casually, and “in a jovial and chipper mood” on the morning of the court hearing. “Ezra would like to acknowledge the love and support they have received from their family and friends, who continue to be a vital presence in their ongoing mental health,” attorney Lisa B. Shelkrot said in a statement after the hearing. The next hearing is currently scheduled for 13 January 2023.

In August, Miller issued an official statement apologising for their behaviour: “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” the actor said (via Variety). “I want to apologise to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behaviour. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”
Last month, it was claimed that Miller considered themselves “the Messiah”, and that they allegedly kept a concerning amount of guns in unsafe places in their house. One source claimed that Miller once brandished an AR15 while singing and burning sage in its barrel.
