Fallout 4 sales rise by 7500% following premiere of Amazon TV series

Fans cannot get enough of Fallout 4 following the Amazon TV series' premiere.

The Fallout video game series has always been loved by the masses for decades but it looks like the new Amazon Studios live-action adaptation has brought in a new legion of fans, which is always great to see.

The Fallout series began in 1997 when it was a top-down RPG, not too dissimilar to the perspective seen in the likes of Diablo and Baldur’s Gate. Even back then, Fallout was a beloved franchise and that love continued with its sequel the following year.

However, when Bethesda acquired the rights to the Fallout franchise, the post-apocalyptic RPG became more popular than ever following the release of Fallout 3 in 2008 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Since that time, we’ve been blessed with some fantastic sequels such as Fallout: New Vegas in 2010 and Fallout 4 in 2016.

Yet, following the launch of Amazon Studios’ live-action adaptation this month (which has just been renewed for a second season), the Bethesda series looks like it’s on its way to being more popular than ever. What’s more, as a result of the Amazon series, Fallout 4 and even the likes of Fallout 76 and Fallout Shelter have been climbing high in the Steam charts.

Now, as reported by Gamesindustry.biz, Fallout 4 has become the best-selling game in Europe this week seeing a sales boost of 7,500%. Given how Fallout 4 and its companions have been dominating the charts lately, the massive sales boost certainly makes sense.

What’s more, later this month, we’re finally being treated to the long-awaited free Fallout 4 new-gen update on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. So don't be surprised if you see even more of your friends playing Fallout 4 in the months ahead.

Fallout 4 is available to play at no extra cost for those who subscribe to Xbox Game Pass as well as PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. Hopefully, Fallout 4 and all of its predecessors can continue to keep us busy until Fallout 5 finally arrives, whenever that time may be.

Now if you excuse me, I’ve got a dangerous, radioactive wasteland to explore. See you later, Vault Dwellers!
