Fortnite rumoured open-world boss fight mode sounds a lot like Elden Ring

Fortnite rumoured open-world boss fight mode sounds a lot like Elden Ring

It looks like Fortnite is going to channel its inner Elden Ring with a new open-world mode.

Whatever you may or may not think of the game, there’s no doubt that Fortnite is one of the biggest properties on the planet for a multitude of reasons, first and foremost, being an ever-evolving and fun game to play.

Before Fortnite became the free-to-play battle royale juggernaut that it is today, it was also once a co-op sandbox survival game called Fortnite: Save the World. Now, it’s one of the most successful multiplayer shooters of all time and it makes its developer and publisher Epic Games all the money in the world. That being said, Fortnite has recently been channelling its inner sandbox survival roots once more with its awesome LEGO collaboration.

Well, it seems that Fortnite will be expanding on its sandbox formula with a new open-world mode that apparently has nothing to do with the recent LEGO collaboration. As shared and translated by Redditor Astraliguss via Twitter user JorgeMost, the rumoured upcoming mode sounds a little bit like Elden Ring with not only a world to freely explore but also big boss fights that will likely kick your backside if you wander into its territory when severely underpowered. This rumour is said to be generated from coding that was hidden within Fortnite.

According to the leaked information, the upcoming Fortnite open-world mode will have boss fights, secondary characters and NPC vendors, its own lobby, various biomes and areas throughout its world, different types of wild fauna, dynamic locations and much more.

At this time, we should take these unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, I have always been a believer in there being no smoke without fire. Hopefully, now that the proverbial cat is out of the bag, Epic Games might officially announce this news soon.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch as well as compatible mobile devices.
