In amazing news for anyone who happens to be both a Dead Space and Assassin's Creed fan, a top-tier Assassin's Creed director is heading up the Dead Space remake. Eric Baptizat was a long-time Ubisoft developer before moving to EA earlier this year to work on a secret project. He's best known for his work on what might be considered the best AC games and will be one of the two most senior developers on the project.

According to VGC, Eric Baptizat is working as the game director on the Dead Space remake. Following a very successful career at Ubisoft directing Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and lead designer on Origins and Black Flag, Baptizat is now going to be seeing one of the most terrifying horror action game series' revivals.

Here is the reveal trailer for the Dead Space remake...

Baptizat will be working alongside a team that is filled with Ubisoft veterans as well as other accomplished developers. The creative director Roman Campos-Oriola of Dead Space, for example, also comes from Ubisoft but worked on For Honor. Additional names provided by VGC reveal that devs from games like Assassin's Creed Unity, the Mass Effect games, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Star Wars Squadrons and more are all working on this new project.

Though there are a lot of fresh faces helping with development, the old Dead Space team is being respected too. We reported last week that one of the original team has been brought in to consult on the project. Dino Ignacio who worked as the user experience director on the original titles now works on Roblox but is consulting on the Dead Space revival to make sure that the remake is a true evolution.
