No, for real this time... this is really and truly Quentin Tarantino's last film... until he decides his next film is his last, perhaps. The director has announced that his next project will genuinely be his final contribution, and he's officially ending his career as a film director at movie number 10. Well, like you, we'll believe it when we see it.

If you're not familiar with Quentin Tarantino's work and his supposed retirement, the director has long said that he's quitting when he hits his tenth film. However, when he released 2019's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, he threatened to quit while he was ahead. Now he's once again reiterated that he'll make one last film, his tenth, and then be done with that side of the creative arts. But, why? Well, it's sort of because he's on a winning streak.

Here are GAMINGbible's games of 2021 so far...

Comicbook spotted Tarantino went on Real Time with Bill Maher to chat about his career which led him to once again confirm his retirement from filmmaking once he completes his next project. When the host says he's too young to retire, the director replies: "That's why I want to quit! Because I know film history and from here on in, directors do not get better."

Tarantino goes on to say: "I don't have a reason that I would want to say out loud that's going to win any argument in the court of public opinion or Supreme Court or anything like that. At the same time, working for 30 years doing as many movies as I've done is not as many as other people, but that's a long career. That's a really long career. And I've given it everything I have."

He compared his career to that of Don Siegel who made Escape from Alcatraz, a classic, before going on to make two other films that weren't well-liked; Jinxed and Rough Cut. Tarantino thinks that if he had ended with Escape from Alcatraz, Siegel would have gone out with "a mic drop" but instead his career "dribbles away". His determination to complete one final film is in part to prevent that from happening to his own career.
