Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is getting an upgrade for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, announced Disney as part of the celebrations for Star Wars Day on May 4th.

As a blend of Souls-like combat and colourful and dynamic open worlds that would be right at home in Uncharted, the story follows Cal Kestis, a former Jedi Padawan who survived the Great Jedi Purge. After he uses the Force to save his friend's life, his identity as a Jedi is exposed to the Galactic Empire, and he discovers that he must prevent the Sith from obtaining a Holocron containing the names of Force-sensitive children. Developing his skills against those who would see the galaxy fall further into darkness and picking up an adorable droid named BD-1, Cal earned his stripes as a capable Star Wars protagonist and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order did very well for Respawn Entertainment and EA. "Featuring a few questionable design decisions, it's impossible to consider Fallen Order a Star Wars classic, up there with Knights of the Old Republic or Rogue Squadron," said Mike in his review of Respawn Entertainment's take on a galaxy far, far away. Clearly, he didn't feel to strongly about it, but the game received a good reception among fans.

Speaking of good receptions, there is a rumour that a third game in the Knights of the Old Republic series is in the works. Here's what we've heard in a glorious audio-visual format for your eyeballs.

For now, though, we got the lowdown on all of the goodies that Disney has in store to celebrate Star Wars Day. First things first, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be receiving technical improvements to bring it to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Expect silky smooth frame rates, almost instantaneous load times, and lightsabers that are more swooshy than ever before. At the moment, the extent of the upgrades has not been exemplified, but we'll keep you in the loop. It is confirmed that it will be a free cross-generation upgrade to current owners of the game. Additionally, the Standard and Deluxe Editions will be on sale on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Origin, and Steam between April 28th and May 12th. So, if you buy it now, you've bagged yourself a next-gen upgrade too. Tidy.

Star Wars: Squadrons, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Deluxe Edition, and Star Wars Battlefront II: Celebration Edition are also on sale on the same storefronts as part of the EA Star Wars Triple Bundle between April 30th and May 11th. Star Wars skins will be 33% off in the Minecraft Marketplace, The Sims 4: Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will be discounted on Xbox, and the Star Wars: May the 4th Bundle gets you Star Wars: Pinball VR, Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy's Edge, and Vader Immortal: Episode 1-3 for Oculus Quest.
