There have been so many great games released this year. Any other year and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor could very likely have been one of the year’s landmark releases. Unfortunately, by the time we reach the year end awards, I do wonder if it’ll get lost under the hype for Starfield, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Jedi: Survivor features a thrilling main story, although its side missions could do so with some serious work. In our review, we wrote, “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an exceptional sequel, improving on every gripe fans had with Fallen Order while adding countless new features in that'll keep players engrossed for a long, long time.” It’s undoubtedly an improvement upon its predecessor, even if it may not end up being a GOTY contender. If you are still enjoying exploring the planets of Coruscant, Koboh, Jedha, Nova Garon, and Tanalorr, you’re going to like what the game’s latest update has to offer.

A new free patch has landed for all versions of Jedi: Survivor. It includes “several performance-related improvements on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S” including GPU and CPU optimisations, as per a press release. Along with disabling ray tracing, this is said to result in a much better experience, with players able to achieve a solid 60fps in Performance Mode. Quality Mode has also received optimisations to “help reduce fps fluctuation”.

Variable Refresh Rate support has been added for PS5, plus the patch includes additional performance & optimisation improvements for PC - including DLSS support. Across all versions of the game, save system tweaks have been made to help prevent save game corruption. An issue has also been fixed where players could not retrieve their XP after dying under certain circumstances. Finally, the patch includes a variety of other crash and bug fixes including fixes for cloth, lighting, and UI.
