God Of War goes to Egypt in stunning Unreal Engine 5 trailer

By this time next week, those of us who have pre-ordered God Of War Ragnarök will have it in our hands. That’s a thought that brings me immense joy. Word is that God Of War Ragnarök will take 70 hours if you’re looking to see all the game has to offer so if you’re planning a November hibernation, God Of War Ragnarök has got you covered.

The devs must be pleased because yesterday, God Of War Ragnarök landed a score of 94 on Metacritic. In our review, GAMINGbible’s Ewan wrote, “Ragnarök is a fantastically impressive sequel that delivers in every conceivable way. [...] This is a high-stakes, high-fantasy rollercoaster from start to finish, and an instant PlayStation classic.” That’s what we like to hear. Ragnarök marks the end of Kratos’ Norse saga so we’re not exactly sure where the series is heading next, but one new fan project has dreamt up what an Egyptian saga might look like.

The project, ‘Imagining God of War in Egypt,’ is the work of YouTuber TeaserPlay who is known for being an Unreal Engine 5 wizard. The creator has also made incredible The Witcher and Silent Hill inspired projects. Talking about the idea, TeaserPlay said, “We have absolutely no idea where Kratos will find himself at the end of Ragnarök but, assuming he survives the ordeal, he'll no doubt want to move on somewhere new. Where? That's up to Santa Monica Studio, but the fans are very clearly hoping that the next lot of God Of War stories embrace the gods and monsters of ancient Egyptian mythology.”

“It's fair to say the Egyptian gods are clearly in the lead when it comes to the race to be Kratos' next punching bag,” they continued. “In this video made in Unreal Engine 5, we tried to draw a general picture of God of War in Egypt. Huge structures, giant pharaohs, perfect sunny weather are only part of the potential of ancient Egypt that you can see in this concept.” Take a look below.

Fans are onboard with the idea. YouTube user Zanar Aesthetics wrote, “Wow this looks so good! It looks too good! I hope they will make a God of War game like this after Ragnarök,” while Hamzahd Umar added, “I've always loved and admired your work. It's incredible. graphics, concept and all are really impressive.”
