GTA 5 looks like real-life in mind-melting graphical overhaul

GTA 5 looks like real-life in mind-melting graphical overhaul

GTA 5 has quite literally never looked so good

With Grand Theft Auto VI being on the way, it might be easy to forget about the most recent title in the series, GTA V. However, this mind-melting graphics overhaul is here to remind us that GTA V can still look better than ever.

Grand Theft Auto V was originally released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before being ported to multiple platforms over the following decade including PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. To this very day, GTA V continues to be Rockstar Games’ biggest cash cow not only due to its unit sales but also the microtransaction-infused world of GTA Online. Not to mention that GTA Online benefits from a plethora of meaty content updates, unlike Red Dead Online.

Check out the GTA V trailer below!

After years of waiting, Rockstar Games finally revealed GTA VI to the world in December 2024 with a trailer that smashed YouTube viewing records. The trailer is truly glorious and fans are super-hyped especially knowing that we’re being taken back to the sunny climates of Vice City. Speaking of which, fans believe that they may have spotted GTA: Vice City protagonist, Tommy Vercetti in the recent trailer.

One of the benefits of gaming on PC is its ever-vibrant modding community who not only fix bugs and glitches on a developer's behalf, but modders will also add new content and even make games look better than ever, such as this real-life mind-melting graphic overhaul for mod GTA V. It will be interesting to see how much GTA V is supported once GTA VI arrives, but something tells me that the modders won't let it die anytime soon.

A gameplay video of the amazing mod was uploaded to the YouTube channel Digital Dreams and it showcases the realistic ray tracing and global illumination technology with the aid of NaturalVision Remastered. If GTA V can look this good with mods now, just imagine how good GTA VI is going to look with similar mods on PC.

Grand Theft Auto VI does not have a release date at the time of writing, but we do know that it will be released sometime in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC release date is yet to be announced.
