Marvel's Spider-Man 2 hits PlayStation 4, but you'll wish it hadn't

I don’t know about you but after spending a weekend with my Spider-Man, it is tough to come back to reality. I already miss the sound of booting up my PlayStation 5 and catapulting around New York City but for players experiencing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on the PlayStation 4, they are probably glad to have a break.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is very much a PlayStation 5 exclusive but that hasn’t stopped some players from risking infernos by attempting to run it on their PlayStation 4s. With stunning visuals, breathtaking ray tracing and a smooth performance, the Marvel’s Spider-Man sequel is a shining example of a 2023 AAA release. However, some players are not willing to sit out on the fun, including one player who somehow managed to get the title ‘running’ on their PS4.

The player took to Twitter to share their experience fighting Sandman in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for the PlayStation 4. What should be an epic boss fight soon turned into a bigger issue when the game began stuttering, making it impossible to see what on earth was going on. The stutters led to a painful death for Peter and probably for the PS4 which I can almost hear struggling from here. However, it certainly led to some funny memes in the comments with one comment saying, “Play has limits, bro.”

However, according to the original poster DiscordantDiver, Play in fact has no limits when you “got a screwdriver”. We can only guess how they managed to get the Insomniac title running on the PS4 but it’s definitely not something that should be done again if you value your sanity or fire-free house.

With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 becoming PlayStation’s fastest-selling game ever, it is no wonder every player wants to get their hands on it. For our very own Ewan Moore, the long-awaited sequel was “an amazing fantasy” that left him “grinning from ear-to-ear”. Insomniac Games has crafted yet another heartfelt Spider-Man story bursting with twists, turns, and show-stopping spectacle,” he wrote in his review. “While I wish it had taken a few more risks in changing up its open-world formula, it’s tricky to remember those criticisms when I’m diving from the top of the Empire State Building and firing out a web line at the last second as I swing away in search of ass to kick.”
