PlayStation 5 owners are finally getting one of the best Xbox exclusives

A former Xbox console exclusive will soon make the hop over to PlayStation 5. I’m talking about the phenomenal Immortality.

Immortality originally launched in 2022 on Windows, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices. The single-player interactive horror centres around model-turned-actress Marissa Marcel. Throughout the game, we see Marissa star in three films - created in 1968, 1970, and 1999 - none of which ever released. When Marissa goes missing, it’s up to the player to delve into these forgotten works to solve the mystery. You’ll utilise film clips, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage. I can also tell you that Immortality landed in GAMINGbible’s top 10 games of 2022 list.

In our review, we wrote, “As a game, Immortality is tailor-made for those who like to call movies ‘films’ because it makes them feel superior. Those who exit the theatre and step into the bright light of the halls, instantly initiating a one-sided discussion of how they expected more from that actor given his pedigree, failing to notice crusty popcorn stuck to the back of their trousers. It's for the know-it-alls that realise, by diving into these three lost films from Marissa Marcel, they might not know that much about cinema after all.”

It’s a game that plays out differently depending on the choices you make, which means it's very fun to play alongside friends, comparing playthroughs. If you’re sick of hearing all of the praise though and just want to dive in, the good news is that you can (if you’re a PlayStation 5 owner), on 23 January 2024.

The game will set you back just $19.99 and I simply can't recommend it enough. I will warn you that it does contain a few spooks, but not the jump scare kind. More the ‘now I feel chilled to bone and won’t sleep’ kind, but that’s all a part of Immortality’s magic.
