All good things come to an end and that is the case for an iconic action-adventure series which will be leaving the PlayStation Plus service next month, giving you just a few weeks to get your hands on them.
To make room for perhaps the most cursed game of 2023, Sony is removing a handful of titles from the PlayStation Plus service. Alongside titles such as Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Friday the 13th: The Game and El Hijo: A Wild West Tale, the Middle-earth series will also be removed on 19 December.

Inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and its sequel Middle-Earth: Shadow of War are action-adventure games developed by Monolith Productions. Released in 2014 with the sequel following in 2017, the series has gone on to become much-loved with fans thanks to its familiar settings and characters and innovative gameplay.

As a result, the Middle-earth series is highly considered as one of the best Lord of the Rings inspired games. With the first game, Shadow of Mordor, being set during the sixty year gap between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the game manages to bring us into a period that would have otherwise been unseen in media. Alongside canon characters, we also get a unique spin to the tale which makes it no surprise as to why it is so popular to this day.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor tasks players with fighting through Mordor to uncover the truth behind the spirit that compels you. To discover the origin of the Rings of Power, you must build your power and ultimately face the evil of Sauron.
Its sequel Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is an epic open-world adventure which will see you forge a new Ring of Power, conquer fortresses and dominate Mordor with your personal orc army.
With the titles being removed from PS Plus soon, it isn’t too late to get your hands on these epic fantasy adventures. If you leave it too late, the only Lord of the Rings inspired game you will be left with is Gollum and nobody wants that.
