Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has less overall players on Steam than a nine year old Batman game, oof.

It’s been a tough few weeks for the new Suicide Squad game. Even the game’s early access launch was left in shambles when Rocksteady Studios had to shut down servers due to a bug that automatically beat the game for new players. In our review we gave it a 6/10, saying while the overall gameplay was enjoyable, repetitive missions and a lacklustre story drag the experience down.

Honestly all the backlash to the game and its story make Gotham Knights look like the game Batman fans deserved, just not the only they needed at the time, perhaps we treated it too harshly?

To add insult to injury, the game is being mass refunded by players, whereas Batman: Arkham Knight, another Rocksteady game that was released nine years ago, has since had a 50% increase to its sales on the PlayStation store.

Since then, Arkham Knight has now overtaken the new Suicide Squad game on Steam as well, having more concurrent players and far more favourable reviews.

In case you haven’t played it, Arkham Knight was Rocksteady’s grand finale to the Arkham trilogy and while it received some flack for its reliance on the batmobile it’s often considered one of the best action games of all time. Its reputation is legendary, with its success only comparable to Marvel’s Spider-Man, another phenomenal superhero game series.

For that reason it’s no wonder fans are ditching the Suicide Squad looter-shooter for a more familiar, and perfected, gaming experience.

Interested players can play Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League and Batman: Arkham Knight on Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms, though if you want my recommendation I’d say play the Arkham trilogy any day of the week.
