This radical Steam game looks like someone crossed Elden Ring with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and it’s jaw-dropping.

There are some fantastic games available on Steam at the moment, from 2023’s game of the year Baldur’s Gate 3, to the multiplayer mayhem of Helldivers 2.

Take a look at Helldivers 2 below.

That said if no current games take your fancy you could always look ahead to games on the horizon, one of which we’re going to cover today.

It’s called Vindictus: Defying Fate and while it’s still a long way off an official release, interested players can give it a go right now via a new playstest.

The game’s description calls it an “action RPG full of excitement" where players have to fight their "way through the journey filled with challenging combats waiting ahead.”

From the screenshots and gameplay footage, it looks like it’ll feature intense battles similar to Elden Ring, but with the RPG progression you’d expect from one of Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls games like Skyrim.

Visually, it’s stunning and the enemies you’ll encounter definitely look menacing enough to put up a fight for even the most seasoned RPG enjoyers.

One such enemy is a giant red lion, who looks like they can leap around the battlefield while swinging an enormous hammer.

Additionally, the combat looks fast-paced and powerful, with some devastating combos to unleash and a variety of weapons to wield on your travels.

As mentioned earlier, Vindictus: Defying Fate is currently undergoing a playtest you can sign-up for.

An official release date hasn’t been announced at the time of writing, but if the playtest goes well and judging from the gameplay we’ve seen so far, there’s every chance the game will launch on Steam later this year.
