Starfield has already blasted into Steam's 10 most popular games

Starfield has already made its way into Steam's top 10 selling games chart in the UK and US.

We’re practically on the one month countdown to Starfield. Bethesda’s highly anticipated space epic is set to launch on 6 September, with early access opening five days earlier.

There is so much to look forward to. Just this week, Bethesda teased an ‘astonishing’ number of side quests. That’s to be expected when you take into account that the game has over 1,000 planets with at least 10% of these containing signs of life. Devs have also teased the various factions and branching paths that the game will have - while some players are convinced that you’ll be able to play as a space samurai. There’s also a convincing theory that you’ll be able to decorate your own apartment, which sounds fun. As we’re on the final countdown to Starfield, the pre-orders are understandably flooding in - and the game has already blasted into Steam’s top 10 best sellers.

Take a look at Starfield’s latest trailer below.

If you head on over to Steam and look at the UK’s top selling games, Starfield is currently occupying seventh place, after rising an incredible 17 places. It sits behind (in ascending order) American Truck Simulator - Oklahoma, Remnant II, American Truck Simulator, the actual Steam Deck console, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Baldur’s Gate 3. By the time it’s release day, I expect Starfield will nab the top spot.

In the US, Starfield occupies eighth position, with Apex Legends also peaking ahead. Globally, it sits at 13th. Clearly not everyone is quite as hyped as those of us in the UK are right now.

If you’re someone who’s got early access to Starfield, done so by buying one of the various premium editions, you can use an age-old trick to gain access on 31 August. Yes, the ol’ timezone bamboozle. For those of you waiting for the game to land on Xbox Game Pass, Starfield is ready to pre-install now.
