Gamer finds crate of Xbox 360 bangers while clearing out attic

It's a crate of dreams... of memories...

Attics might spell disaster in horror films, but when it comes to video gaming nostalgia they can be a goldmine. One such gamer uncovered a treasure trove of games whilst clearing out their attic, and we’re both jealous and shocked.

On the Gaming Subreddit, TheAZRage shared a photo of their epic Xbox 360 games collection, with the simple but emotive caption: “Clearing the loft out and found my childhood”. They’re not wrong!

Depending on your age whilst reading this, you might not be transported back to the heyday of the 360, but those of us of a certain age will remember the absolute bangers that came out on that console.

In fact, the shared image is so relatable to Xbox gamers one user asked “excuse me, did you steal that from my loft?”. Dead Space 2, Left 4 Dead, Halo Reach – these are just three games that will forever be imprinted on our memories, providing us with warm, fuzzy feels.

Should you want to almost drown yourself in nostalgia, only this time for Team PlayStation, you might want to join the legions of fans who hail Bugs Bunny: Lost In Time an underrated game.

As is the case with such wonderful memories, there’s always a barb to be mindful of, like the realisation that these classic games cost a lot less than what we pay for games nowadays. “£40 for a new game. Those were the days,” reminisced BrockChocolate, to which another user said “I miss actually owning the discs too”.

Back in the 00s, physical games were all the rage, as was a cheaper price tag. However, while things have changed, some would argue for the worst, we can always revisit those wild, heady, youthful days whenever someone reminds us we’re now 30-years old, with a mortgage and responsibilities.

Jokes aside, we can’t help but wonder if, in many years to come, someone will share a photo of their 2020s collection. It will include the likes of Starfield, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

That same person will then share pictures of their “retro consoles”, which include all the new-gen consoles we’re currently playing on, their eyes wistfully tearing up as they share their stories.
