Xbox officially reveals gorgeous new hardware we need immediately

Xbox has dropped a brand-new piece of hardware, a controller called Nocturnal Vapor and it’s absolutely gorgeous.

If there’s one thing Xbox excels at it’s their controllers, as there are loads and loads to choose from and you can even design your own through Xbox Design Lab.

While the company has dropped several new controllers over the past few years, with a large assortment of colours to choose from, it’ll likely be the special editions that catch your eye the most.

The next special edition piece of hardware has been dubbed Nocturnal Vapor, as it is part of the Vapor line that boasts a delightful smoke effect on the shell of the controller.

Preorders are available for the controller right now, with it set to drop later this month of 9 April on the official Xbox store and supporting retailers.

It has all the bells and whistles of the Xbox Series X/S controller, which is seemingly getting a redesign to be more like the PlayStation 5 DualSense, and it’ll also be compatible with PCs as well as consoles.

Those who purchase the Nocturnal Vapor controller will also be treated to a freebie, a new Dynamic Background inspired by the controller for your Xbox dashboard.

It joins a long list of backgrounds, one of which dropped earlier this week as a tribute to the late Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama.

Many fans have been patiently waiting for news on additional Xbox hardware, including the all-digital Xbox Series X, which unlike its predecessor will be white and lack a disc-drive.

There’s also the aforementioned controller, as well as rumours of a new Xbox console in development for the next generation of gaming.

Whether an official reveal in the coming months is on the cards or not is unknown at the time of writing, but with Summer usually being prime time for big announcements we might hear something soon.
