The Xbox Series X has a hidden feature that’s worth flipping on for those late-night gaming sessions.
As Microsoft’s most advanced console to date the Xbox Series X has a variety of bells and whistles to customise your gaming experience.

One such feature is the perfect setting to mess with if you have sensitive eyes, and if you do most of your gaming in the evening before you go to sleep.
It’s the console’s night mode, which automatically darkens the screen and adjusts the colours to provide less strain on your eyes and, hopefully, better sleep when you call it a night.
Almost every piece of hardware that requires a screen has some form of night mode, from smartphones to laptops to televisions, and it’s believed switching them on will be great for your eyes in the long-term.
Of course you wouldn’t want this setting switched on every time you’re gaming, unless you have really sensitive eyes and get headaches often, but fortunately there’s a handy schedule feature you can play around with.

You can schedule night mode to switch on whenever the sun is supposed to set where you live, or you can set it for your own schedule, perhaps for times of the day you know you’ll be sitting down to play some games.
To find the Night Mode setting, it’s as easy as fighting the General tab in your settings, scrolling down to TV & Display Options and looking for Night Mode.
From there you can either switch it on straight away or have a mess around with the aforementioned scheduling settings.
For those who struggle to play games for a long period of time due to eye-strain or headaches it’s a fantastic feature, and for those who enjoy late night gaming sessions with friends but struggle to fall asleep afterwards, it could be exactly what you need.
