PlayStation Plus May 2023 next free game looks set to be major release

PlayStation Plus May 2023 next free game looks set to be major release

A major May release could be coming to PlayStation Plus on day one.

We’re mere days away from finding out what May’s PlayStation Plus essential tier line-up will entail but if this latest rumour is to be believed, it could include a major release that’s certain to prove popular with plenty of subscribers.

Right now, essential tier subscribers can grab Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Tails of Iron, and day one release Meet Your Maker. If you do grab Sackboy, there’s also a bunch of free DLC available on the PlayStation Store. Extra and premium PlayStation Plus subscribers can pick from 16 new games including Kena: Bridge of Spirits which is ‘mesmerising’ players. I agree, it’s a banger. We already know a day one release is joining the extra tier in May, but it’s now been suggested that a different release could imminently land on the essential tier.

Tchia is one of my favourite PS Plus releases this year. Why not give it a go?

As pointed out by ComicBook, Age of Wonders 4 could be coming to PlayStation Plus as a day one release. This is all hypothetical so take this theory with a large pinch of salt. ComicBook points out that Age of Wonders 4 is set to release on 2 May, which is also when PS Plus’ May essential tier line-up should become available to download. This could simply be a coincidence, but we are seeing PS Plus up their game when it comes to day one releases.

Age of Wonders 4 is set to release on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, so it is a new-gen exclusive. The official synopsis reads, “Powerful Wizard Kings have returned to the realms to reign as gods among mortals. Claim and master the Tomes of Magic to evolve your people, and prepare for an epic battle that will determine the ages to come. Explore new magical realms in Age of Wonders’ signature blend of 4X strategy and turn-based tactical combat.”
