Without many seemingly noticing, PlayStation has pulled a horror classic from the PlayStation digital storefront in various regions much to the dismay of interested players.
There’s many reasons why video game titles can be removed from console storefronts and whether that is due to the end of a licensing agreement or so a more updated version can be sold, it’s always a sad time for players who have yet to make the leap.

The latter reason is seemingly the case for Supermassive’s Until Dawn which was first released in 2015 for the PlayStation 4. The interactive horror game was widely received upon launch and as a result, it still sits at an 8.3 user rating on Metacritic. Spotted by Twitter user Wario64, Until Dawn has started to be removed from the PlayStation Store in various regions such as Australia and Germany. Those affected will be met with a “not available for purchase” warning.

Although a reason has yet to be announced by Sony, we can assume it is due to a recent report claiming that PlayStation is expected to announce a new port for Until Dawn soon. The port would be arriving to the PlayStation 5 and PC but this is yet to be officially confirmed by the company. However, if this is true, it would make sense to remove the current PS4 version of the title from the PlayStation store.
It is an exciting time for Until Dawn fans after it was revealed the much-loved horror game would be receiving a movie adaptation. Headed by screenwriter Gary Dauberman who is most known for horror films such as The Nun and Annabelle, the Sony production is still in its early stages but fans hope it will receive a star-studded cast much like its video game counterpart. The Supermassive title saw the likes of Rami Malek and Hayden Panettiere take on lead roles so it remains to be seen if they will be reprising their roles in the cult classic.
