Pokémon meets Dark Souls in this chaotic free download

I choose you, Sulyvahn's Beast!

Pokémon meets Dark Souls, now there’s a collaboration that I never knew that I needed until today and no, this is no April Fools, that day is now thankfully over with until next year.

Who would have thought that Pokémon would have been so well suited to FromSoftware’s Dark Souls series? Well actually, the modder known as AngusIsLove did, and it is they who are to thank for this wonderful unofficial mash-up of two of the video game industry’s most popular franchises.

Check out the Dark Souls III trailer below!

So how does this mod called ‘Pocket Souls’ work? It’s kind of like the Ashes from Elden Ring, only this time you’re summoning creatures from Dark Souls III to help defeat gruelling enemies. You capture creatures via Abyssal Flasks and not only can you heal your allies on the fly but you can also use your own power to level them up and even teach them new abilities.

In other words, you’ll become the best Souls trainer in the Kingdom of Lothric and you’ll have an absolute blast playing Dark Souls III in an entirely new and fun way, cheating your way to victory. You’ve got to love the awesome modding community. Best of all, the ‘Pocket Souls’ mod is free to download now via Nexusmods.

“Use the power of your enemies to your advantage by capturing them and pitting them against each other. Rule Lordran by conquering the minds of the creatures that inhabit it, reads the description of ‘Pocket Souls’. “Overhaul mod that has you play DS3 in a very different way. Use Abyssal Flasks to capture creatures, potions to heal your allies, sacrifice your own energy to power your team up, and apply infusions to teach new abilities.”

What’s more, ‘Pocket Souls’ also brings new weapons, armour and boss battles. In total, there will be over 50 Ashes, sorry, creatures to capture, level up and do your bidding. As soon as you begin using the ‘Pocket Souls’ mod, you can even pick your starter class to train. It’s also worth mentioning that you will need both Dark Souls III expansions, Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City to run this mod.

Unfortunately, as with most mods, this is only compatible with PCs and not consoles. So for those of us who play Dark Souls III on Xbox and PlayStation, we’ll just have to get our backsides kicked the old-fashioned way.
