This Red Dead Redemption 2 mod is a treat for Resident Evil fans

Despite being one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, Rockstar Games has never treated us to a single player expansion for Red Dead Redemption 2.

Released in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Red Dead Redemption 2 was well received by fans and also garnered scores as high as 97 on the aggregate website Metacritic cementing its place as an all-time great. As a result, fans are desperate for the release of Red Redemption 3, which we know will only arrive sometime after GTA VI when it's released in 2025.

What’s even more baffling about Red Dead Redemption 2 not receiving a single player expansion is that the original 2010 game had the amazing Undead Nightmare. Fans had even hoped that Red Dead Redemption 2 may even get a sequel to Undead Nightmare but the prospect has likely long passed.

Thankfully at least, fans have taken matters into their own hands with mods such as the ‘Misterix Redemption’ mod for PC created by HermanDude, it’s available for free via Nexusmods and it looks like an added treat for Resident Evil fans.

This mod adds a host of mythical creatures to the game which are as wondrous as they are deadly which not only includes zombies but also vampires, a megalodon and more for you to hunt. Though I’d love to see how Arthur Morgan manages to kill a megalodon. Eat your heart out, Jason Statham!

The ‘Misterix Redemption’ mod is still apparently in its alpha phase, so it might be wise to expect some bugs and glitches. That being said, it at least seems like it could be a lot of fun.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. What’s more, it’s also backwards compatible with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
