Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League players divided after major deaths leak online

Fans aren't okay about this, and to be honest, we're not sure if we are either

The curse of difficult video game launches continues for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for this new game.

Let me preface this by saying this isn’t a bad game. In our preview, we gave it praise for allowing us to enjoy taking a walk on the wild side, where “being bad never felt so good”. Yet, despite its promise, the game is off to a rocky start.

Just one hour after the DC title entered early access, the servers for the game were shut down. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, the refund search requests have skyrocketed by 761 percent, proving that players really aren’t impressed by Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Check out our Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League preview if you haven't already.

Now the fandom is divided once more, but it’s not over gameplay issues but over the deaths of some pretty major characters. As much as we don’t want to spoil anything for you, it’s hard to talk about these deaths, so leave now if you don’t want to know.

There’s quite a few deaths in this game, which is unsurprising given its title is all about killing the Justice League. Still, seeing Batman shot in the head, as well as the Flash being killed and then urinated on has proven a bit much for some players.

A lot of gamers are comparing the deaths to other tragic and shocking ones, like Joel’s death in The Last of Us Part II; not that fans believe Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has executed (forgive me) the right tone to warrant such comparisons.

Some fans believe the shock factor is necessary given the narrative of the game, while others feel overkill has been used to hammer home the point of the Suicide Squad’s mission. But what is a fandom without some discourse, discourse we feel will grow the longer this game is out in the wild.
