Star Wars' Hayden Christensen holds back tears as fans welcome him back

A video of Star Wars' Hayden Christensen has resurfaced after the actor was seen holding back tears at 2023's Star Wars Celebration event.

Hayden Christensen is the man of the moment when it comes to Star Wars. The actor returned as Anakin Skywalker in last week’s episode of Ahsoka, garnering acclaim from fans.

Ahsoka is proving to be a major hit for Disney Plus, despite the fact that it benefits to have some knowledge of Star Wars Rebels which, admittedly, plenty of viewers don’t. Regardless though, fans seem to be enjoying the show. In fact, it’s the highest-rated Star Wars project since the original trilogy was released. The good news is that we still have three delicious episodes left to go - an exciting prospect given the events of the last episode. Warning: spoilers lie ahead. Ahsoka found herself face to face with Anakin once again in the World Between Worlds and following the character’s reappearance, a video has surfaced of a teary-eyed Hayden Christensen being welcomed back into the fandom fold by fans.

Take a look at Ahsoka in action below.

Earlier this year, Hayden appeared at Star Wars Celebration and to say he was warmly received by fans is an understatement. At the time, fans were celebrating his appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi. While it was rumoured that he’d appear in Ahsoka, we didn’t know exactly how that would unfold. As reported by our friends at UNILAD, while on stage, Hayden was moved to tears by the crowd’s deafening applause.

Fans took to Twitter to reflect on the heartwarming moment. Twitter user saturnartquinn wrote, “Today I'm thinking about this moment when Hayden tried to hold his tears on [Star Wars] Celebration stage. He felt loved and appreciated that day and you can see how much it meant to him to come back to Star Wars, just look at him, this man deserves the world.”

One user added, “It bothers me that people hate on him. His performance in the prequels is spotless. Perfectly done. The man is a legend,” while another said, “The appreciation for Hayden just keeps growing and is reciprocated by him. I’m so glad he stuck it out to see this happen. This is the good side of the Star Wars fandom.” We absolutely love to see it.
