Warzone 2 is being absolutely ripped apart by Steam reviewers

Warzone 2 is being absolutely ripped apart by Steam reviewers

"Amazing how they can take a solid game and just make it worse."

For a sequel that was intended to be "better in every single way," Warzone 2.0 sure is floundering. Head on over to the game's Steam entry and you'll be greeted with reviews airing players' grievances over the technical state of the battle royale.

Let's be honest, it was a tall order trying to impress the Call of Duty community. It's reminding me of the futile feeling when you've got to convince a toddler to eat all of their mashed banana in their bowl because you liked the banana! You like the banana, don't you? You've just decided to not like it for the last three mouthfuls because there might be something exciting happening out of your high chair.

Lionel Messi is now a playable Operator in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 because. Because I guess he can be. Here's the trailer:

From weird install instructions, a new mode that is so unpopular people are paying to get out of playing it, and a skin that harkens back to the ire-inducing days where Roze reigned supreme, Warzone 2.0 is having a shambolic time of it. Steam players are voicing their complaints where they can and at the time of writing there are nearly 15,000 reviews for the game. Of these, the proportion works out to give the sequel a "mostly negative" label.

"How do i get my money back for a free to play game?" asked one. "Terrible, tons of crashes and bugs. Amazing how they can take a solid game and just make it worse even though it has pretty much the same concept," tutted another player.

Well, never fear. You are able to play the original Warzone, sort of. It just won't be quite as you remember it being.
