'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' Getting Massive 40-Hour Expansion Inspired By 'God Of War'

'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' Getting Massive 40-Hour Expansion Inspired By 'God Of War'

Sounds impressive, boy

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is reportedly getting a huge God Of War-style DLC expansion with up to 40 hours worth of new content.

This rumour comes via trusted Battlefield and Call Of Duty leaker Tom Henderson, who claims that the substantial DLC will most likely be released March 2022. He adds that another, smaller expansion is to be announced later this week during The Game Awards.

Ubisoft announced earlier this year that the open-world viking adventure has been such a hit that it will be getting more story expansions beyond the currently available expansions set in Ireland and Paris.

A mysterious teaser (below) was shared during E3 that announced Eivor’s saga would continue into 2022, although the exact nature of this DLC has yet to be officially revealed.

It could well be that this new God Of War-style DLC is the Dawn Of Ragnarok expansion that we first heard about back in October.

Well-known Assassin’s Creed insider j0nathan shared a video filled with alleged details on the expansion. He teased that the new adventure would embrace the fantasy side of Assassin’s Creed, and send players on a journey into Svartalfheim, the realm of the dwarves. Here, the insider claims, Eivor will help fight to repel the evil Surtr and his Muspel warriors.

Eagle-eyed fans will no doubt be aware that the original E3 teaser for further Assassin's Creed Valhalla DLC pointed towards Muspelheim rather than Svartalfheim. Perhaps we will get a smaller content drop in December focused on the former, while the March 22 expansion brings with it Svartalfheim and Dawn Of Ragnarok.

This is all just rumour for now, of course, but hopefully we'll find out more about Assassin's Creed Valhalla's 2022 plans during The Game Awards on December 10 at 1am GMT. Are you willing to stay up? I'm not.
