For over 20 years since its inception on PC back in 2003 the Call of Duty series has been one of the biggest franchises of all time and is still going strong today.
It’s perhaps a testament to how powerfully popular Call of Duty is, even when it releases a game such as Modern Warfare III in 2023. A game universally panned by critics and fans alike, but still went on to sell copies in the millions for publisher Activision.

In my campaign review for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, I said: “In a year that has brought us so much joy with some amazing video game releases, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III somehow manages to lower the tone.” As a lifelong fan of the series, I really hope that Call of Duty redeems itself in 2024.
