Looks are everything.

While CD Projekt Red has its nose to the grindstone patching and producing new content for Cyberpunk 2077, modders have been adding their own creations to the game, and this chrome body mod for V is simply stunning.

Modder Crazy Potato has tacked the files for the metallic body, which is not unlike performance artist and popstar Lizzy Wizzy, onto a set of sneakers and a pair of aviator glasses in the game. Once these items are added to V's inventory and she equips them, her whole body is coated in chrome, giving her a much more intimidating look, and one that is more befitting of a dystopian society obsessed with pushing the limits of the human body. Ewan was bemused to find out that Cyberpunk 2077 offers no option to change the character's hairstyle at any point in the game, though you could customise from head to toe (and other places) in the character creation part.

Letting V jam bits and bobs into their arms and legs to stab further and run faster is fine, but players have been hankering after lower-tech modifications for their custom characters. One mod offers a much wider palette of shades for hair, facial hair, iris, and skin tones, letting players select a silvery-blue for their hair, white cat-like eyes, and flame decal nails, for example. Other modders have pinched assets from NPCs, like these Tyger Claw tattoos which are actually a bodysuit that V can wear regardless of their gender. Moreover, Panam and Claire's hairstyles have been ripped from the game so that they're selectable for V, and another mod expands the colours available for eye makeup, adding shades like magenta, gold, and lime green.

To me, it strikes me as the sort of stuff that should have been in the base version of Cyberpunk 2077 anyway. It's a futuristic city, unrecognisable to us in the early 2020s, and the population is brash, angry, entitled, downtrodden, and everything in between. Naturally, we would see them expressing their personalities and what divides them in their appearances, but it seems like V didn't get the memo.

We know that Cyberpunk 2077 is getting free DLC very soon, though we aren't sure what shape this will take. CD Projekt Red stated it will be similar in structure to that of The Witcher 3, which gave away bundles of new missions, cosmetics, items, and more every so often. Fingers crossed that the developer has something special up its sleeves for players, though right now, I imagine its priority are the lawsuits that claim CD Projekt Red knew the game was "unplayable" before it launched.
