It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Henry Cavill portray dear ol’ Superman. Well, it’s been over a year, anyway - we last saw the guy in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and fans have been clamouring for his return since.
Earlier this year, it was claimed by an insider that Warner Bros. had decided to scrap all Superman projects currently in development, and take it from the top, bringing Cavill back for a new movie. Whilst this unfortunately suggested that Ta-Nehisi Coates’ Superman reboot may be in danger, it was still an exciting prospect to imagine Cavill making his return. Now, it sounds like we might be seeing him sooner than expected.
Black Adam will hit cinemas on 21 October - check out the trailer below.
As reported by Dexerto, Twitter user @MyTimeToShineH, who has apparently leaked details from other superhero movies in the past, has claimed that Cavill will make an appearance in Black Adam, which is set to release in cinemas later this month.

“Yes Henry Cavill is back[,] he has the classic suit with the Williams score and he says, ‘We need to talk Black Adam’,” the insider wrote.
The rumours don’t stop there, though. As reported by The Direct, industry insider and former editor-in-chief of Birth. Movies. Death., David Faraci, recently claimed on the Marvelvision podcast that Cavill may currently be making a new Superman movie, all thanks to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
"It’s all behind-the-scenes stuff that I thought was kind of fascinating, which is that the reason why Henry Cavill has returned as Superman in Black Adam is because The Rock demanded it,” Faraci claimed (via The Direct). “Like, he went hard, full-court press on Warner Bros. and made them go to Henry Cavill and they had to sign a new deal with Henry Cavill, including saying they were gonna develop a new Superman movie. And it was all because The Rock insisted. […] Not only is Henry Cavill gonna be in Black Adam, my understanding is they’re working on a Henry Cavill Superman movie.”
