Modern Warfare 2 players will have 'unfair advantage' in Warzone 2.0

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II players will be benefitting from an exclusive experience point boost in Warzone 2.0 until the latter end of 2023, which is essentially an 11 month incentive to buy the newest entry in the series to keep up with the competition.

Those stunning sales might deceive you, but believe me, there are people out there who haven't bought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. On the other hand, Warzone 2.0 will be free, like its predecessor, and aims to offer one of the most electrifying experiences in gaming with its significant innovations. Its DMZ mode, for example, is a new feature that sets squads "narrative-focused" missions where players will interact with enemies to rally them to their side rather than outright eliminating them.

Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 will share battle pass progression, which is neat. However, those who have got Modern Warfare II will be able to outpace those who only play the free battle royale quite quickly. "Modern Warfare II owners also get Premium XP while playing Warzone 2.0," clarified Activision. "At the end of each match, owners will receive additional XP on top of any XP that can be earned by all players." Now, it's become clear that this Premium XP isn't active for a fortnight, or maybe a month at the most.

In a new trailer, it shows that this promotion expires in October 2023, which is ridiculous. It's possible to level up ahead of others with double XP tokens but these range between 30 minutes to an hour.

While Warzone 2.0 is free, you might be tempted to buy Modern Warfare II too if you like the battle royale a lot and take its competitive side seriously for this XP bonus. Seems a bit shady to me.
