It’s very wise never to get too attached to a Netflix show. The streaming giant, although full of wonders, has built a reputation for abruptly cancelling fan-favourite series, leaving viewers on cliffhangers and with questions about what was supposed to happen next.
We’ve seen it happen time and time again - last year, Fate: The Winx Saga fans were very disappointed when they discovered that the second season’s cliffhanger ending was never going to be resolved. Not even a full month into this year, four shows have already been laid to rest - 1899 fans have been protesting the cancellation of the period drama, which ran for just one season before being ditched.
Inside Job was also cancelled this month, despite having its second season confirmed last year. Take a look below.
As LADbible reports, Netflix viewers have recently dug up an old tweet that has aged like milk for the streaming platform. Back in 2017, responding to complaints about the cancellation of Sense8, they wrote: “We don’t like leaving a story unfinished. We learned a lot from [Sense8] and we’re going to try not to do this in the future.”

Recently, it was suggested that Netflix’s decisions to cancel shows may be based on the completion rate of series rather than their popularity alone, which makes a lot of sense. After all, if only a small percentage of viewers saw a show’s first season through to the end, chances are that even less would be interested in seeing a second one happen. Not that that makes it any better for the dedicated fans, of course.
It was recently confirmed that Wednesday will be getting a second season, although given how much that took off online, I don’t think anyone can say that they’re surprised.
