Jar Jar Binks may be coming to Call Of Duty, god help us all

Somehow Jar Jar Binks has returned…possibly as an operator for Call of Duty. We're truly living in the dark times.

Somehow Jar Jar Binks has returned…possibly as a new player skin for Call Of Duty games, we’re truly living in the dark times.

Over the last few years Call Of Duty has taken a few pages out of Fortnite’s book by adding a variety of well-known IPs to the games as purchasable player skins. So far the first-person shooter franchise has collaborated with the likes of The Terminator, Attack On Titan and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live just to name a few, though it seems an upcoming crossover will take the game to a galaxy far, far away.

Ahmed Best, the actor credited with playing the controversial Jar Jar Binks throughout the Star Wars prequel films recently shared an Instagram post in a mocap suit, with the caption “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.” Best included hashtags for Star Wars, Jar Jar Binks as well as Activision, implying that his mocap work will have something to do with his now iconic character appearing in one of the publisher’s games.

Whether this is an entirely new Star Wars game published by Activision, or a sign Jar Jar will be slaying us with an assault rifle on Call Of Duty Warzone is currently unknown at the time of writing, though it’s clear in some way and some form, the gungan is coming back.

Jar Jar Binks was a widely controversial character in Star Wars for several years, with Ahmed Best suffering from mental health issues as a result of the portrayal. “Fans” relentlessly attacked the actor because they didn’t like the character, pushing Best out of the franchise before made a glorious return as a Jedi in a flashback of The Mandalorian.

It seems Best is now ready to reprise his role, and will hopefully be more appreciated for what should have always been an innocent comic-relief character.
