PlayStation Plus free games lineup for May potentially off to a bad start

No matter which tier you subscribe to on Sony’s PlayStation Plus service there are plenty of games to play from AAA big hitters to unexpected indie darlings and more.

Each of the Sony subscription tiers offers something a little different. For example, the basic tier, PlayStation Plus Essential offers online gaming, exclusive DLC and discounts as well as a small selection of monthly games. One of the benefits of the PS Plus Essential tier is that as long you have an active subscription, games added to your digital library will always remain. That’s unless in the unlikely event that a publisher decides to nuke a game.

As for the two other tiers, PS Plus Extra and Premium, they offer everything that is included in Essential but with a lot more PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 games to choose from. PS Plus Premium even offers a plethora of retro games, cloud streaming, free movies, trials and more. However, one of the downsides of the Extra and Premium tiers is that a lot of the games offered in the library will likely be removed at some point, unlike the PS Plus Essential offerings.

With that in mind, a Reddit user has predicted what games are likely to leave PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium this coming May, and it seems that the month could be headed for a rough start. Reddit user kayrakaanonline, who is a known predictor of titles leaving PS Plus has speculated based on previous data that the likes of the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy post-2013 and GTA V could be leaving the service again.

Other titles that have been predicted to leave PS Plus in May 2024 include the puzzle game Humanity, action RPG Thymesia, challenging platformer Rain World and narrative adventure Lake.

Of course, this information is pure speculation at this time, so it should be taken with a pinch of salt until we learn more. That being said, it will be interesting to see if kayrakaanonline predictions come true, no matter how disappointing that news might be to some.
