Steam is bringing a popular delisted game back from the dead

Steam is bringing a popular delisted game back from the dead

Steam is bringing back a certain horror game

It seems that Steam has the magic touch and is bringing a horror title back from the dead. Well, that’s the platform on which a new fan-made game will be released. You see, Friday the 13th, based on the hit horror film franchise, was delisted back in 2023 after several years with the servers shut down, leaving fans upset.

The game was essentially dead due to a rights issue with the series creator. Because of this, the game, which was well-loved, quietly died off. Now, however, the game is making a comeback as Friday the 13 Resurrected and will be made by fans of the game, to be released on Steam.

Dead by Daylight mastered the multiplayer survival horror experience and now features many horror icons

The game aims to play similarly to Friday the 13th in that Dead by Daylight multiplayer survivor way - four players must survive while being hunted by Jason Vorhees. This new ‘resurrected’ version will have more of a homebaked feel and will likely include more character models, as well as more killers.

It could be seen to step on the toes of its horror rival, Dead by Daylight, but there’s plenty of horror to go around, as we’ve seen with various other survival horror games. The game will come to Steam as a free-to-play title, whereas the original game retailed at $20. This will allow more players to come along and give it a try on the release date of 15 April.

Just how much of the original material gets through is anyone’s guess at this point, perhaps we could still see a hockey mask-wearing slasher patrolling the shorelines of a campground lake. To be honest, it’s not a hard character to mimic and stay clear of copyright issues so with all things being good, you’ll be able to survive this new horror game very soon.
