Cast your mind back to May of this year, when we were hit with a deluge of Star Wars news thanks to the annual Star Wars Celebration. A lot of great stuff was announced, but quite easily the most exciting thing for many was the reveal of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to Fallen Order.
At the time, we were given a very vague release window of 2023, and with no other trailers posted since, most would probably guess that it’d be quite a while away. However, as reported by PC Gamer, that may not be the case.

In a recent update for investors, EA revealed that it’s planning on releasing a “major IP” at some point before 31 March 2023. While that might seem very short notice, CEO Andrew Wilson explained that the shift to digital marketing has meant that teams have had to reconsider when is most appropriate to start properly advertising upcoming games.

“The nature of marketing in our industry has meaningfully changed in the past five or six years,” he said. “You might remember that when we launched Apex Legends, we didn't tell anybody about it until about 48 hours before the community got to play it.”
Now, we don’t know for sure that this major IP is definitely Survivor, but as PC Gamer writes, in May, EA said that in early 2023 the company plans to release a “partner title”, “sports title”, and “remake” as well as a “major IP”. A few months on and with a bit more knowledge of what’s in the works, and it seems that the remake is Dead Space, the sports game is likely a new Super Mega Baseball, and the partner title is probably Wild Hearts, leaving an open spot for Survivor to take. What’s more, industry insider Jeff Grubb previously claimed that the game would be releasing in “February or March”.
As of now, we don’t officially know what’s happening, but if it’s true, we probably don’t have too long to wait to find out.
