Good news horror fans, The Terrifier 3 has officially been announced, and it’s promising more gore than ever before.
It’ll be the third entry in the American slasher series, which follows a style similar to Halloween, or Nightmare On Elm Street. The movies see a cast of characters face-off against a homicidal clown, called Art, complete with disturbing and horrifying death scenes. They’re not everyone’s cup of tea though, in fact, some viewers reportedly threw up during some of the bloodier Terrifier 2 scenes, a feat not many films have achieved. .
If you’ve got more of a stomach for horror though, you’ll be glad to hear this next entry in the series is promised to be “more extreme” than previous films, mainly due to an increased budget. Details on what the horror film could entail, as well as plot details, are few and far between at the moment, though it’ll likely follow a similar formula to the first two films.

Writer Damien Leonne said: “Terrifier 3 will be another boundary-pushing addition to the horror genre, continuing the no-holds barred, uncompromising exploits fans of the franchise have come to expect and celebrate … If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in Part 2 was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
Priscilla Ross Smith, the founder of The Coven, who will be producing the horror film, implied the increased budget will contribute heavily to the film’s direction. She said: “There will be a much bigger budget this time around, which is intended to give the filmmakers more creative freedom, and let them be as wild as they can be.
“And, all jokes aside, we are going for that Oscar this year.”

Whilst the first Terrifier film garnered average reviews from critics and viewers, the second film surpassed all expectations, and actually released to positive reviews, with an 85% critic score and 80% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It also unexpectedly made over $15 million at the box office, thus warranting another sequel.
The Terrifier 3 will begin filming later this year, sometime around November or December, with the release of the film planned for late 2024.
