xQc Loses $800K Mid-Stream Thanks To A Bug

xQc Loses $800K Mid-Stream Thanks To A Bug

The Canadian streamer's luck quickly turned upside down when he made a crucial error on stream, losing him a colossal amount of money.

Canadian Twitch streamer Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has seen his fair share of controversies and drama over the years, both big and small. Last year, it was revealed that the 26-year-old had been forced to move addresses after getting repeatedly wrongly raided by the police, as a result of being doxxed. As for this year, he managed to face the wrath of the entire My Little Pony fanbase, who don’t seem to take their moral values from the show perhaps as seriously as they should. What happened to ‘friendship is magic’?

In case you were unaware, the streamer has also been heavily criticised for his promotion of gambling. Fellow streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa called him out last year, suggesting that he was only hating on the hot tub meta in an attempt to distract from his gambling streams. Now, xQc’s habits have become the cause of a very costly mistake.

Before we get into it, be sure to take a look at some of our favourite livestream wins and fails right here.

As reported by Dexerto, earlier this week (20 June), xQc was four hours into a gambling session on stream, when he got the world record ‘Big Win’ on an online slot game, netting him a whopping $825k (roughly £677k). However, things quickly went south when he went to hit the refresh button to carry on playing, and was hit with a white screen and a ‘500 Internal Server Error’ message.

“No! What did I do? F**k, I’m so dumb, f**k, f**k, I’m so f**king stupid,” the streamer cried out, before sinking down into his chair in silence. Honestly, I’d say that’s a perfectly reasonable reaction to losing almost a million dollars in one go.

Somehow, despite all that, once he got over the initial shock, xQc was thankful that the error had popped up, claiming that it probably saved him $1M that he would have continued to gamble away: “That’s why you shouldn’t do it, don’t gamble. I do it because I enjoy it, but you shouldn’t do it, it’s dumb,” he added.

It should go without saying, but please don’t try this at home.
