Amongst many things, I think it's safe to say one of the internet's greatest talents is managing to find horror game characters sexy. It makes for an interesting gaming experience to say the least, and is certainly one way to tackle spooky games without being scared (I won't judge). Anyway, in this case, you may be surprised to hear that I'm not talking about Lady Dimitrescu, but rather the Silent Hill monster Pyramid Head. Mmm, triangles.
The iconic pointy headed lad caused a great uproar upon his arrival to Dead by Daylight last summer, not because of the seemingly arbitrary choice to rename him as "The Executioner", but for a far more pressing matter - his disappointingly flat ass cheeks. The promo shots we saw prior to his release had shown the monster packing some seriously thicc cake, but his actual in-game appearance turned out to be severely lacking, and fans weren't happy. The devs even spoke up about the whole thing, insisting that his butt hadn't been altered, and that any change in appearance was due to an alteration on his apron.
To remind yourself of what Pyramid Head looked like when he was first introduced into the game, check out the reveal trailer here:
For a number of thirsty fans, this wasn't a satisfying answer, and they soldiered on, wistfully thinking about the cheeks that could have been. Well, over a full year after his release, they can finally rejoice in sweet victory. A new update was rolled out last week, which, as you can see in the patch notes, fixed a variety of bugs. And one of these bugs? "Fixed an issue that caused The Executioner's rear to be too flat". Finally, there is justice in this world.
Speaking to Kotaku, Behaviour Interactive's Marie Claude Bernard revealed that the team had discovered a problem with Pyramid Head's outfit - the cloth covering his butt had some clipping issues, which made it appear flat. I don't know about you, but it's incredibly reassuring to me that the devs have continued to put in such effort to the things that really matter.
If you want to get your hands on some freshly reinvigorated Pyramid Head booty, the update is live now, so be sure to update your game and experience the cake in all its glory. Apparently, the thiccening may not yet be complete, as listed under the "known issues" of the patch notes, "The Executioner's rear may still be too flat." The question is, can it ever be too big? No, I don't think so.
