HBO's The Last of Us is yet to debut on streaming services and already the fans are looking forward to the second season, casting a "perfect" Ellie for the events of Part II.
Fan castings can be a touchy topic. For yonks, fans imagined actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the role of Joel (haha that rhymes), but now that Pedro Pascal is portraying the grumpy survivor, we can't work out why they would have gone with anyone else. Merle Dandridge is back playing Marlene, and the rest of the cast is rounded out with Anna Torv as Tess, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Nick Offerman as Bill, Lamar Johnson as Henry, Keivonn Woodard as Sam and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.

The television version of The Last of Us will show the events of the first game, plus or minus a few things, as there are new characters created for the show. Should the season meet with high enough reviews, a second season could be on the cards, and fans have moved swiftly to cast an older Ellie in Part II.

It's none other than Brazilian-Portuguese actress Alba Baptista. If that name is ringing a few bells, it's probably due to her playing Ava Silva in Warrior Nun, the supernatural action show that Netflix cancelled earlier this year. Baptista's schedule is therefore theoretically flexible to take on the role of Ellie if a second season is confirmed. In the meantime, take a look at these comparisons between the two:
They plead a convincing case, you must admit. I would like to point out that Bella Ramsey is 19 years old and is the same age as the character in Part II, so there's nothing to stop Ramsey reprising her role with a slightly different costume and makeup look to make her look older. The Last of Us comes to streaming services on 15 January.
